James Edward Lavenger   b. 2 Apr 1906 - d. 25 Jun 1983



James E. Lavenger, 77, died Saturday at his home in Chinook.

Rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Thursday in the Edwards Funeral Home

chapel followed by Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Friday in St Gabriel's Catholic Church.

Interment will be in Kuper Memorial Cemetery.

He was born April 2, 1906 in Zortman to Barney and Francis Lavenger.

He worked as a flume foreman at the Chinook sugarbeet factory in 1945

and also worked for Siebert brothers for 14 years in ranching and

did other work.

He and Elizabeth Jeannotte were married on April 7, 1934 in Malta.

They had 14 children, six sons and eight daughters.

Surviving are Mr Lavenger's wife, Elizabeth; sons, Ed, Mike, Bob, and Jack,

all of Chinook; Bill of Havre and Gary of Sidney. Daughter, Phyllis Trotchie,

Gloria Williams, Elaine Morin and Cheryl Cederberg, all of Chinook;

Edith Hebig, Billings; Ruby Chavis, Hanscom, Mass; and Betty Ivester,

Brownfield, Texas and Karen Lavenger, Havre. 29 grandchildren

and three great grandchildren.
