Ruth B. Nelson

  HAVRE - Ruth B. Nelson, 71 who had served as a deputy assessor for Hill

County and worked at Citizen's Bank, died Saturday at a local hospital of

natural causes.

  Her funeral is 2 p.m. Tuesday at Messiah Lutheran Church, with memorials are

suggested to a chartity of the donor's choice.

  She was born March 31, 1923n in Richardton, N.D. She recieved her education

in New England, N.D., Inverness and Rudyard. In 1940 she graduated from Rudyard

High School.

  In 1949 she married Robert D. Nelson in Great Falls; he died in 1977.

  She worked as a clerk at the Buttrey Store and Krezelak Meat Market. She was

a deputy assessor at the Hill County Courthouse. She worked at Citizen's Bank

retiring in 1985.

  Surviving are two sons, Danny and Bruce Nelson of Havre; four sisters Eunice

Robertson of Pacifica, Calif., Lauretty "Sally" Wodarz of Havre, Cora Brandt of

Grass Valley, Calif., and Lydia Hansen of Rudyard; and four brothers, Harold

Brandt of Richland, Wash., Edwin Brandt of Seattle, Wash., Elmer Brandt of

Central Point, Ore. and Eugene Brandt of Grass Valley, Calif.

  Ruth B. Nelson, 71, Havre, died Saturday, at a Havre hospital of natural


  Services for Mrs Nelson will be held at the Messiah Lutheran Church, Tuesday,

at 2 p.m., with Rev Will Olsen officiating.

  Burial will be in Highland Cemetery.

  She was born March 31, 1923, in Richardton, N.D., to Louis and

Laura(Krrueger) Brandt. Her family moved to New England N.D., were she attended

school. The family later moved toInverness where she attended school in

Inverness and Rudyard. She graduated from Rudyard High School in 1940.

  In 1949, in Great Falls, she married Robert D. Nelson. After  their marriage

they lived in Glasgow one year and then moved to Havreb where they continued to

make their home.  Mrs Nelson was employed as a clerck at Buttrey's Store and the Krezelak Meat

Market. She was a deputy assessor at the Hill County Courthouse and later

worked at the Citizens Bank retiring in 1985.

  Mrs Nelson was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 1977 and one

brother, George bBrandt.

  She is survived by two sons, Danny and Bruce Nelson, both of Havre; four

sisters, Eunice Robertson, Pacifica, Calif., Lauretta(Sally) Wodarz, Havre,

Cora Brandt, Grass Valley, Calif and Lydia Hansen, Rudyard; four brothers,

Harold Brandt, Richlnd, Wash., Edwin Brandt, Seattle, Elmer Brandt, Central

Point, Ore. and Eugene Brandt, Grass Valley, Calif.
